“But if from there…”

Published by Lois Clymer on

“But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul” Deut. 4: 29. This verse is in Moses’ farewell instructions to the Israelites. Moses tells the people that if they become corrupt the Lord will scatter them among the peoples, but at that point if they seek the Lord they will find him, for God is a merciful God.

Whatever difficult spot we find ourselves in, we should seek the Lord with all our heart and all our soul, and we will find him. When I searched for God, I found him in some unusual places and to share what I found with others, I wrote Sacred Strands, Finding  A Redeemer Woven through history.

Here is another verse I like from Deuteronomy. “And now, O Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul” Deut 10:12.
